Every
morning when there is a donut trip in the works, the excitement undeniable, as
we are either going to a tried and true or on to a new experience. O’Fashion Donuts was a new experience that overall
did not disappoint. The chocolate long
john, from the first sight of it we knew there was not enough frosting on the top
and our taste confirmed this. The amount
of dough used is substantial, which leaves a lot of room for icing on top. Perhaps if the donut base was smaller and the
same amount of frosting was used, this would be a much better rated donut.
On
a very strong positive note, the glazed donut was a huge standout. This is the melt in your mouth donut that is something
to write home about. And no, we are not
talking about Krispy Kreme, because O’Fashion Donuts glazed is far superior to
Krispy Kreme.
Other
donuts sampled were the old fashion glazed and the vanilla, sprinkled cake
donut. The old fashioned was fair, a bit
heavy on the dough and shy on being sweet.
The vanilla donut had more sweetness, and a donut is supposed to be
sweet, so it was a better donut.
